Warehouse computer vision that keeps docks moving and people safe

Know what’s happening at every dock door, and when people get too close to forklifts, on your existing CCTV or cameras fitted for the job.

Updated October 2026

Warehouse computer vision for New Zealand warehouses and distribution centres shows dock door status and turnaround, counts goods at key points, and alerts supervisors when people and forklifts get too close. It runs on site, on existing CCTV where suitable, so footage stays in the building.

  • Live dock status and turnaround
  • Goods counted at key points
  • Alerts when people and forklifts get too close
  • A photo and time for every event
  • Footage stays in your building
Docks

Know the state of every dock door

See which doors are free, which are running late and how long trucks are waiting. To check the condition of pallets as they’re loaded and received, see loading dock inspection.

Monitoring

See what’s happening across the floor

Counts, records and alerts from camera AI trained on your own building.

Dock door status

See which doors are free, busy or running late.

Gate and yard

Know who has arrived, who is waiting and for how long.

Flow and counting

Count goods moving through doors, conveyors and packing areas.

Loading records

A photo record of what was loaded, where and when.

People and forklifts

An alert when people and forklifts get too close.

Spills and blocked aisles

Fallen stock and blocked aisles flagged so they’re cleared quickly.

Handling damage

Damaged cartons and loads recorded where the damage happens.

Safe practice

Hi-vis and walkway use checked where forklifts operate.

Forklift safety

Keep people and forklifts apart

Cameras watch blind corners and crossings, backing up your barriers, rules and training.

  • Proximity alerts: when a person and a forklift get too close
  • Walkway breaches: forklifts in walkways, or people in forklift lanes
  • Near misses: each close call saved with its image and time
  • Warnings: a message to a supervisor, or warning lights where you have them

It warns people but can’t stop a forklift, so it supports your traffic management plan rather than replacing it. AI safety monitoring: what it can and can’t do.

How it works

Turn camera footage into alerts and reports

  1. 01 · See Cameras Dock, yard and aisle cameras, existing or purpose-fitted
  2. 02 · Detect AI on site Trained on your site and running there too What the AI sees
  3. 03 · Act Your team
    • Alerts to supervisors, with the image
    • Dock board door status and turnaround, live
    • Reports shift summaries and near-miss logs
    What your team gets
Cyan is what the AI sees; amber is what your team gets. You choose who gets alerts and what the reports show.
  1. 01

    Check your cameras

We assess your existing cameras, and supply or reposition cameras by arrangement where needed.

  2. 02

    Learn your building

It learns your doors, forklifts and zones from footage of your own site. Custom AI vision models.

  3. 03

    Run on site

Alerts go out straight away, and footage stays in the warehouse.

  4. 04

    Connect your systems

Results can feed your WMS or reports where your systems allow.

Count stock where it makes sense

Camera counting suits similar items in set places, like cartons and pallets in marked bays, and works best as a check alongside barcode scanning. AI for warehouse inventory. For finished pallets leaving a production line, see pallet and dispatch verification.

Footage stays in your building

Video is processed and stored on site by default. The system records events, such as a door coming free or a near miss at a crossing, rather than identifying people, and workplace-surveillance rules are considered in the design. This is general information, not legal advice.

Watch the gate and yard too

Gate and yard cameras log vehicles on and off site through vehicle and site monitoring. Compare GPS and cameras for automated truck counting, including contractor fleets.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Will it work with our existing CCTV?
Yes. We integrate with existing cameras over docks, gates and main aisles where they are suitable, and supply or reposition cameras by arrangement where coverage falls short. Adding AI to existing cameras.
How does AI help with forklift safety?
It watches shared zones, crossings and blind corners, alerts when a person and a forklift get too close or a walkway is breached, and records each near miss with an image. It supports your separation, traffic management and training rather than replacing them.
Can it measure dock turnaround?
Yes. It records when each truck arrives at a door, when loading starts and finishes, and when the door is free again, so turnaround times and yard waits come from real events.
Does it connect to our warehouse management system?
It can run alongside your WMS as a visual check, for example by recording what was loaded at which door. Direct integration depends on your system and is confirmed per site.
Does footage leave the building?
Not by default. Detection runs at the edge, within your building, so video stays in your warehouse and only results such as reports are shared. Edge AI vs cloud AI.
